I was living a good life, but I was not aligned with my true self.
In my mid-20s I was employed at a well-known fashion company and living together with my ex-partner. To everyone else’s eyes, I was successful and happy.
I was hungry for more, but I didn’t know how. I knew I was not living the life I wanted, and I repressed my desires for a long time, falling into unhealthy habits and highly stressed.
I got diagnosed with all the symptoms of an autoimmune disease at the age of 27.
True fact: You do not realise that you are getting sick unless you stop and deeply listen to yourself.
I felt confused and lonely on my way to understanding what was happening to me.
Things have changed a lot for me since then. I recovered from the chronic inflammation, but my life is still far from perfect. Up and down moments happen often. It's hard to maintain a balanced lifestyle when life runs so fast.
However, knowledge supports me and can change the way you approach everything.
Firstly, the crucial thing that I understood was that my body developed an autoimmune inflammation in order to prevent me from harming myself even further.
Practically, I needed to speak the same language as my body in order to interpret the signals it sent me over time, and learning what my body needs to function properly towards optimal health has been the absolute game changer.
The solution for me was to reduce the level of acidification in my body as much as possible through an anti-infammatory diet and a lifestyle that encompasses nervous system rgulation and emotional balance.
Most of us believe in the misconception that the absence of sickness defines us as healthy, rather than actively and consciously maintaining our mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and social wellbeing in homeostasis.
